All we are is a blip, A tear in the fabric of space, A speck of dust floating In the current of time. So what's the point? Why am I here? Why do I bother? Because that person is here. Because that person is worth it. That person, The one for whom I would gladly give my life. The one who I strive each day to make smile. It's beautiful, That smile that could set the sky ablaze, Force the sun to hang its head in shame At that person's brilliance. They are the sun to my moon Gracing me benignly with radiance. The one who I would chose over the world, Because without them, I have no world. Nothing else matters anymore, Not life, not school, not other people. They are my everything, And someday, I hope I can be theirs. That person's voice is like starlight Unfettered, pure and ethereal. If I could have it speak only for me. That person is hopelessly lost, And yet the still finds hope In the roses they stop to smell On their way. I crave the days my person shares that with me, The days they find me in the gardens, And take my home to their heart. And they are why I bother.
I like your theme here (definitely a favorite!), and I was wondering, why do you refer to your love as "that person"? It's unusual and stood out to me.
Uh, good question ^_^' Actually, that person has no idea I like them and I'm not ready to tell them, so I was trying to express my feelings without giving enough for anyone to guess who it is.
